Developing Teacher Leaders to Bring CS to All Maine Students

STEM Workforce Ready 2030 is creating a network of teacher leaders committed to increasing equitable access to Computer Science learning in rural, PK-12 classrooms across Maine.

WFR is expanding a research and practice partnership focused on increasing equitable access to computer science education for all Maine’s students. We believe all Maine students, at all grade levels, deserve access to computer science, and that the most effective way to that goal is through the integration of computer science into existing curricula. We are committed to supporting Maine schools through this process.

Research and Practice Partnership

WFR is co-designing a replicable, Regional Hub model of professional learning that supports rural classroom teachers each year as they implement CT/CS integrated activities.

“The Foundation is excited to reinvest in the exciting work of MMSA to advance computer science education in Maine. Ultimately, we hope that this project will help inform and ensure that emerging opportunities in computer science, at Maine’s higher education institutions and throughout the state’s workforce, will be accessible to all Maine students and graduates.”
